Idrees Abkar

Sheikh Idrees Muhammad Abkar was born in 1395 AH (1975 CE) in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. He began Quranic studies at Masjid-ut-Tawheed at age eight and completed his hifz at Masjid al-Fatini in four years. He studied under such masters as Yusuf Al-Ahmady, Abdul Wahab Al-Ahmady, Odah Al-Zahery, Abdullah Al-Qarni, and Hady Said. He served as imam at multiple Jeddah mosques before being appointed permanent imam of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi and has traveled to lead prayers across the Muslim world.
